Select Footage Panel

Select Footage is usually the first panel you use on a new shot. It tells MotionMaster 3D which image sequence to work on, and converts videos into image sequences. Hover over any setting in Blender to see a short description of it.

Select Image Sequence

Click Select Image Sequence, or type the folder into Image Sequence Path and use the folder icon to browse. MotionMaster 3D scans the folder, collects the images and sorts them by name, for example C:\Shots\Walk_sequence.

Name images in a clear numbered order, such as frame_0001, frame_0002 and so on, so they sort correctly.

Video or Sequence Converter

The converter turns a video into an image sequence, or rewrites an existing image sequence at a new resolution, color depth or step rate. Pick a file or folder in Video or Image File. The panel detects what you chose and shows "Video detected" or the number of frames in the image sequence. Then set the Conversion Options:

  Color Depth: 8-bit or 10-bit output images.

  Step Rate: how many frames to skip. A 100-frame video with step rate 5 gives 20 images. Use 1 for camera tracking; a higher step rate is only useful when you just need a mesh.

  Target Resolution: downscale the footage for faster tracking, for example 4K to 1920x1080, or keep the original resolution.

Click Convert Video (or Convert Image Sequence). A new sequence folder is created next to your media with the processed images, and your original file is left untouched.

Batch Mode

Tick Batch Mode to process many clips at once. It enables the Batch Processing panel, where you pick the sequences and the operations to run on each. It is the same switch as the checkbox in the Batch Processing panel header.
